{"id":2817,"date":"2025-01-15T20:22:10","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T20:22:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/movewithnicole.com.au\/blog\/guide-to-capturing-effective-before-and-after-photos.html"},"modified":"2025-01-15T20:22:10","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T20:22:10","slug":"guide-to-capturing-effective-before-and-after-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ozhelp.org.au\/blog\/health\/guide-to-capturing-effective-before-and-after-photos.html","title":{"rendered":"Guide to Capturing Effective &#8220;Before&#8221; and &#8220;After&#8221; Photos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You\u2019re about to embark upon a journey that will change your body and your life, and nothing captures the\u00a0results of this experience (at least the visible part of it!) quite like a set of \u201cbefore\u201d and \u201cafter\u201d photos.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you just want to keep them as a personal reminder of\u00a0how far you\u2019ve come, or if you want to shout it from a mountain and share\u00a0your story with the world, prepare to get your Ph.D. in transformation photography!<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"How to Take Your \u201cBefore\u201d and \u201cAfter\u201d Photos\" width=\"1290\" height=\"968\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nk--mMZVgDk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Camera, Photographer, and\u00a0Location<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s best to use a digital camera so you can take high-resolution photos.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a camera tripod or something similar, that\u2019s great; otherwise, try and get someone\u00a0to take your photos \u2014 don\u2019t worry, they\u00a0don\u2019t have to be a pro photographer!<\/p>\n<p>Choose a well-lit area in front of a plain wall or door. The less clutter in the background, the more attention on you and your transformation.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Dress Code<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A swimsuit or form-fitting workout clothes work best. You should show as much of your body as you\u2019re comfortable with, but please keep it appropriate for public consumption.<\/p>\n<p>You might be tempted to take your transformation photos in your undies; after all, they cover the same amount of skin as a swimsuit, right?<\/p>\n<p>True, but would you wear your undies\u00a0out in public? Probably not.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Photo Composition<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Take high-resolution full-body photos \u2014 or at least from head to hip \u2014 and make sure your face is clearly visible.<\/p>\n<p>Try to take the photos from different angles, i.e. a front view and a side view.<\/p>\n<p>And remember to include your face in the photos so that we can easily identify you!\u00a0Make sure each photo doesn\u2019t exceed 20 MB.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever you do, consistency is key!<\/p>\n<p>Ideally, your \u201cbefore\u201d and \u00a0\u201cafter\u201d photos will show you doing the same poses, wearing the same clothes, in the same place both before and after your transformation.
