Grow a ‘mo’ to change the face of men’s health

November is upon us, which means many of the men in our lives will be donning noteworthy facial hair in an effort to raise funds for men’s health, improving quality of life, and preventing suicide.

Since its humble beginning in 2003 when Travis Garone and Luke Slattery met up for a beer in Melbourne, Movember has grown to include 21 countries and millions of supporters — all with the mission of reducing the number of preventable deaths of men across the world. By giving men the facts, encouraging them to change their behaviour for the better, uniting researchers and creating services, Movember aims to ensure that men live healthier, happier and longer lives.

Interested? There are plenty of ways to do your bit:

Grow a Mo

Bring the Mo back into style in your workplace. Ask your community, family, and co-workers to grow with you. Let your moustache start conversations and inspire donations for the sake of men’s health.

Move for Movember

Run or walk 60km over the month—one for each of the men we lose to suicide every hour, across the world. Ask friends and family to back you with a donation. Invite your workplace to Move in a team. Every step counts towards saving the lives of men.

Host a Mo-ment

Join together for a BBQ, pub takeover or moustache-themed party. You could host a sporting event or a group shave-off to kick off the month. The most important thing is that you have fun, invite your mates and ask for their support.

You could also support a friend by donating or attend a Mo-ment to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health!

Let’s take a stand for the improvement of male mental health, prevention of suicide and tackling prostate and testicular cancer this November.
