OzHelp Chief Executive Officer, Mr Darren Black was appointed to the Board of Directors of Suicide Prevention Australia at its Annual General Meeting held this week.
Mr Black is joined by four other newly elected Board Members.
Suicide Prevention Australia is the national peak body for the suicide prevention sector and aims to provide a clear, collective voice for suicide prevention in Australia.
“It is a great honour to be appointed as a Director to the Board of SPA”, Mr Black said.
Preventing suicide is a national priority, with important national policy work and funding, and activities happening across the health, mental health and social service sectors. SPA plays a critical role in advocacy, policy development, driving best practice, innovation, and collaboration across the sector.
“A world without suicide is a goal we must commit to, and by working together we can play a part in shaping the way we approach this complex challenge.”
“I look forward to making a contribution and supporting the important work that SPA does, and working with my fellow directors who are equally passionate about suicide prevention,” said Mr Black.
