OzHelp Foundation announce Master Builders ACT as the Naming Rights Partner of the Suicide Awareness Ball

The OzHelp Foundation (OzHelp) are thrilled to welcome Master Builders Association (MBA) of the ACT as the Naming Rights Partner of the 2023 Suicide Awareness Ball.

The annual fundraising event is aimed at growing awareness and funds to support OzHelp’s mission to prevent suicide in the workplace and beyond. The conversation starting event will be held on Saturday, 3 June 2023, in the Great Hall at Parliament House, Canberra. All proceeds from the Suicide Awareness Ball will go towards OzHelp’s on the ground suicide prevention programs and mental health training, and support to apprentices and workers across high-risk, hard to reach, blue-collar industries.

As a founding member of OzHelp, MBA ACT’s sponsorship further strengthens the relationship between the Foundation and the local industry which it represents.

OzHelp Board Member and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hamish Thomson said, “We are extremely proud to welcome MBA ACT as our Naming Rights Partner. They are long-standing supporters of OzHelp and work relentlessly to provide better outcomes for the building and construction industry. It is a great fit to have such an established business show their support for the Ball and recognise the importance of breaking down the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health.”

MBA ACT has been representing the building and construction industry since 1925, with its members representing the entire supply chain, from major companies to small and family businesses. Their aim is to help members operate safe, productive and successful businesses.

Master Builders ACT CEO, Michael Hopkins said, “We’re proud to partner with OzHelp on this event to raise much-needed funds for a range of programs including OzHelp’s Life Skills Toolbox Program with apprentices and their onsite Tradie Tune-Ups. OzHelp was founded in 2001 after a young apprentice died by suicide. The volatile economic conditions combined with other pressures on the industry means we need OzHelp’s programs and services now more than ever.”

As the Suicide Awareness Ball draws closer OzHelp is calling on local businesses for their support and generosity to assist with their fundraising goal through sponsorship, donations, or raffle prizes.
